Vita

Dragilew belonged to the Russian department of young writers at the Latvian writers association, was first published in 1986, worked for the Russian editorial team of the public broadcast, and was the head of several Jazz bands. He studied at the University of Riga and Jena as well as at the music college in Weimar. He was editor of the literary-culturological series of papers VIA REGIA, and a guest lecturer at the European University Viadrina. He designed and presented various series of readings, the first Russian Thuringia radio magazine, the Eddie-Rosner Jazz Festival (Berlin), and co-initiated the writers’ group SAPAD NAPERJOD (KdW – Kehrseite des Westens - Downside of the West). He goes on stage as a musician and as a director of various music projects („The Swinging PartYsans“,„Kapelle Strock“). Numerous publications. He is a member of the PEN Centrum of writers in exile in German speaking countries, and head of the Russian writers’ association in Germany.
