TJ Dema, Dichterin aus Botswana, ist die Autorin von „Lethe“, dem diesjährigen Festivalgedichts des ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival. Internationale FilmemacherInnen waren dazu eingeladen, ihre visuelle Interpretation dieses Texts einzusenden. Die drei besten Verfilmungen von Thelma Tunyi and Shanley Fermin (USA), Aleksandra Łojowska (Polen) und Emilia Strzałka (Polen) werden gezeigt, dazu die Werke, die auf der Longlist der Programmkommission standen. TJ Dema liest neue Gedichte per Video. Alexander Gumz spricht mit der Autorin und den RegisseurInnen über das Verhältnis von Dichtung und Film.

Following the ZEBRA’s call for entries, international film makers have made film versions of this year’s Festival Poem, “Lethe”, by Batswana poet TJ Dema. The three best film versions – made by Thelma Tunyi and Shanley Fermin (USA), Aleksandra Łojowska (Poland) and Emilia Strzałka (Poland) – will be shown, accompanied by the films on the programme commission’s long list. TJ Dema will be taking part in the evening via video and will read some of her new poems, followed by a discussion on the relationship between poetry and film between the author and the film makers.
