Vita

The poet and author Najet Adouani is from south Tunisia. She studied journalism and is a member of the Tunisian Writers Association since 1982.
Until now, six poetry collections in Arabic were published, as well as a collection of short stories.
Najet Adouani has been invited to many Arabic and international readings and poetry festivals. In 2010, she won the Feminine Poetry Prize of her own country. Her poems were translated into French, English, Spanish, Malayalam and German.
Over 15 manuscripts, poetry and prose, are yet to be published.
Her poetry collection »Meerwüste«, which was published in 2015 by the Berlin Lotos publishing company, was nominated for a prize for literature one year later.
Najet Adouani sees herself as an unswerving fighter for human rights, and “by writing she spreads her wings to draw a dream into her readers’ eyes“. From 2013 until 2016, she was a guest of the Writers-in-Exile-Program of the PEN Center Germany.
