Der Mangel an Übersetzungen aus dem Arabischen ins Hebräische und umgekehrt wird oft als Herausforderung für die kulturelle Verständigung beschrieben. Besitzt der Akt der Übersetzung eine produktive Kraft? Die Teilnehmenden eines kürzlich gegründeten Übersetzungsprojekts am Van-Leer-Institut in Jerusalem werden uns ihre neueste Publikation Amputated Tongue: Palestinian Prose in Hebrew präsentieren und von ihrer gemeinsamen binationalen Arbeitspraxis erzählen.

The lack of translation from Arabic into Hebrew and vice versa is often described as a challenge to cultural understanding. Does the act of translation possess productive power? Participants in a recently established translation project at the Van Leer Institute in Jerusalem will present us with their latest publication, Amputated Tongue: Palestinian Prose in Hebrew and tell us about their shared binational working practice.
