Elizabeta Lindner - born Kostadinovska (which is also her artist name) studied German Philology at the University of St. Kyrill und Method (2001, Dipl. Phil.) in Skopje and Modern German Literature and Slavic Studies (2002-2005 - Russian and South slavic literature) at the University of Regensburg, where she graduated in 2005 (Magistra Artium). Her master thesis focussed on the role of the kabbalah in Gustav Meyrink’s novel „Der Golem“. 1999-2000 during her German Philology and Slavic Studies at the TU-Dresden, she received a DAAD-scholarship.
Since 2006, she is living and working in Berlin as a self-employed literary translator, editor, writer and artist. In 2007, she founded the literature portal www.slovokult.de, a portal for Macedonian literature in German, which she organizes together with other literary translators as an editor. Since 2008, she publishes books translated from German into Macedonian at the Blesok press in collaboration with Igor Isakovski, and organizes readings with the translated writers (so far: Ingo Schulze, Benjamin Stein, Jürgen Nendza und Michael Krüger, plus book presentations). She is also cooperating with other publishing houses in Macedonia.
In 2010, she was an art director of readings and book presentations by Macedonian writers at the Leipzig Book Fair and editor of the first and only Fair’s SlovoKult magazine Slovothek Nr.1. (on behalf of the exhibitors of the country of Macedonia). After the early death of publisher Isakovski on 12-15-2014, Elizabeta takes over more of the work, publishing the already planned and translated German books at the Blesok press. On July 14, 2015, she founded SlovoKult::Literatur press in Berlin, and 2016 the online magazine SlovoKult::Liteartur/a in Macedonian and since November 2017 in German as well. The publishing program included multilingual poetry collections at first with the works of the authors published in the SlovoKult::Literatur/a online magazines.
Since 2016, she cooperates with Art Equlibrium, an art association in Macedonia, and together they are planning on more international projects apart from the commenced series of readings. For more than two decades, she is writing poems (for 13 years solely in German) and translates her short stories into German. She publishes essays and other Macedonian and German texts. Her poems were published in several German magazines under her maiden name E. Kostadinovska, and her collages (with text) were shown at few exhibitions in Berlin, Skopje and Gevgelija. In 2017, she had her first solo exhibition in Skopje, and she is working recently on her first poem collection which is supposed to be published soon.
In 2018 she will publish works in two German Anthologies and further print magazines, she will show her new works in few group exhibitions and multimedia poetry performances in Berlin, Gevgelija and Skopje.
